Denis O’Brien

Denis O’Brien is married to the love of his life Lori and father to three sons Cutter, Justin, and Beau. The family beagle Daisy is our “daughter.” Registered since 1980, Denis has helped hundreds of families retire successfully and happily. In his spare time, he likes to “jam” with his sons playing his accordion with great gusto if somewhat limited ability. He is an avid reader and a follower of the Graham & Dodd investment philosophy.

He is a season ticket holder to the University of Connecticut Huskies Men’s Basketball team and cheers for the Lady Huskies as well. His wife Lori grew up in Texas and enjoys traveling with the family out West and enjoys hiking, rodeos, and the great Outdoors.

Serving as a Registered Representative for over 35 years, Mr. O’Brien has MBA in Finance from Binghamton University and is currently President of O’Brien Retirement Investment Group LLC in Mystic, Ct. He worked on Wall Street from 1980 until 1986 and left for the quiet life in Connecticut where he and wife Lori raised three sons. He currently serves on the Town of Groton Retirement Board which oversees a portfolio in excess of $100 million. Previously, he also served on the vestry at St. Marks in Mystic, Ct. and was active in youth sports for many years in Groton Ct. He is a past member of the Town of Groton Representative Town Meeting, Past President of the New London Public Library and former Treasurer of New London County Historical Society.

Our office is located at 232 Greenmanville Avenue in Mystic, Ct off exit 90 in the Taylor Realty building down from Steak Loft and next to the gas station.
